Probably the most complex project?

K well I was just sittin in the tractor, since I work on a farm, and this idea hit me. I dont know if it would the sexiest or the most ethnical project to be taken under way, but I thought for sure it would rank up pretty high in the custom project no limits kind of car show. The idea spawned from the RX-8 actually. I was thinking if somebody would take the time and sink alot of their money, which people who do these kind of things arent afraid of doing, and making a 4 door eclipse or talon. I know I know your probably thinkin thats the dumbest thing I've heard, but think of it this way you tune your car to make some desent numbers right? Why do you do this?..to be one of a kind in your town..or you put on a body kit why do you do this?..TO BE ONE OF A KIND IN YOUR TOWN...well imagine if you had a 4 door dsm I'm pretty sure your would have the "one of a kind" car in the UNITED STATES..I don't know just the thought of it would be pretty sweet. I just want to see what you guys think.

people tune their car to get awesome times so that people watch it race and are like...wow..that was amazing......people put rims and kits and drop tons and tons of bling on there car so that people will look at it and be like....wow...that looks amazing.......people dont cut their car in half...burn sacks of money tryin to make a sexy sporty car a grocery getter just so people can look at it and be like.... :thumbdown

If you want to steal something from the Rx8, make it the engine and drivetrain. Transplant all that into a GSX and make it rear wheel drive only. Then you could have some fun.

Taking my 90 laser, and putting a 1gb front end on it off a 93 eclipse.

Well youd have a Galant VR-4. Good idea, but the fact that their already was a 4 door dsm and the fact that it would cost more then twice of what the cars worth, might not make it worth it.

Not flamin man, Props for tryin to think outside the box more people should but if you look at chrises pic a couple posts up you will see that the door could only be about four inches wide between the front door and back tire. You would be cutting into the unibody which would take a lot of work if it was even possible to get the origional strength back. On top you would have to cut out the back window and figure out how to make a door and window that sealed properly. Once all this was done it would still be too small for any one over eight to fit in.
It would be totally possible and might be kind of cool in a show car but for the cost you could buy two evo 4s.

I saw a stretched 3rd gen RX-7 limo in a magazine once. I think that's pretty much the only justifiable reason to add doors to a car. You'd also be spending a tractor load of cash and getting a car that isn't very good at anything.
