ok, let me get this straight...are DSM body mods interchangeble...for instance, if i wanted to buy a new hood for my 97 talon would a hood ment for a 97 eclipse fit? reason i am asking i cant find anywhere that sells aftermarket parts for a 97 talon, but a shitload of places that sell mitsubishi stuff.....

like i said, probably a stupid question but something i need to get cleared up

Yup, DSM body parts are interchangeable. So the hood would work fine. There are some differences to be aware of between years like different headlights for 97-. I'll let someone who is more familiar with the 2G's fill in the rest.

Yea, hoods are all the same 95-99 talon or eclipse.
95-98 Talon- all headlights the same
95-96 Eclipse- Same as above
97-99 Eclipse- Narrower headlights, require different front bumper or you will have a gap between the bumper and the headlight.

Other than that, the obvious difference is the tail end, but you can change that as well provided you have both the bumper and the tails.

look at my gallery my car is talon with 97-99 eclipse conversion... Most of the parts are inerchangeble.. There is few different of the 2ga n 2gb..

Just to reiterate- the late 2G Eclipses have wider bridge to the nose in the bumper, between the headlights. This was never changed on the Talons, and they never got the better headlights. The taillightss on the Talons have a slight radius on the lower leading edges, on the sides of the body, but it's part of the plastic bumper. The Eclipses are cut straight across. The plastic fender trim, door sills, lower doors, and those bizarre winglets on the latest Talons are the most varied parts on the cars, but I don't have which/what memorized. The sheet metal's all the same, other than different holes for the side trim mounting posts in some cases. Of course, for all years the Talons are much prettier.
