Ludachris: This post is more for you. I remember you saying you wanted to see our cars with the fender flares.....I did some test mounting. I hope you like the pic. I have more but I'm lazy and don't want to resize them. :D
Very nice. Which flares are those? Did you have them painted professionally or did you spray paint them? What size wheels do you have on there in that photo?

I don't think I want to go much wider than the 255's I have on there now.
The rims are 17x9's I don't think I have much more room.

Mavisk I can't really send you the pictures.....once I get my welting and get everything mounted in a non test mount type deal I'll send you pictures. I promise.

Sucks I haven't heard from luda yet though.
I'm here, just not as much as usual due to my daughter :)

Please - more pics when you can! I need to see how they look.

Those pics would be even more appreciated. Why stop at the 255's? Are you running out of room on the inside or on the outside?

I used the ZG flares all fronts, because if you get the set you get the rears ones as well and they are way to big for our body. IMHO. It would look stupid, so I got all fronts to try to keep to the factory lines. ;)

I had the flares painted. I have a friend in a body shop so he painted them all for 30 bux. Cheap if you ask me. :D

The wheels in the photo:
I have 255/40/17 tires sitting on a 17x9 wheel.

I'm running out of room on the inside I was thinking of putting a spacer and putting on the 275's but I don't have the extended wheels studs at the moment, so going any farther out and my wheels most likely won't bolt up.

www.thezstore.com is where I was looking at them.

Thanks for the info on doubling up on the fronts. I've got a ton of inner clearance and I'm thinking of donig a +18 offset wheel possibly in 17x9 for a set of 275's. Otherwise I'll have to do spacers. Shouldn't have to as fwd's have tons of space inside

Thanks again for the info, absolutely invaluable.

I love how that red 1g looks!!..we need more pics and a full write up..i would love to make my 1g like that...holy shit its nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad that you like it, once I fully mount them up I will do a write up. Most likely though I think someone else will beat me to it. Either way, we'll see right?

So you guys are talking about these then:
http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7BSA02/50-1562

Hmmm, just when I was about to buy these:
http://www.raceonusa.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=4422

Does anyone know which ones will fit better? I'd hate to have to buy two of the ZG sets just to make one set that fits.

Wow, the 240sx ones are cheaper and look wider as well. I may have to give those a closer look. Plus if I don't like them I've got a much better shot at getting them sold to the drifters.

Anyone get anything ordered or on the car? I'm ordering up the wheels and tires this week.

Couple of things in the works:
- FP manifold with EvoIII 16g
- new Dejon MAF piping (preparing for sidemount setup)
- DSM Link and supporting fuel mods (been collecting dust in the garage)
- new brake setup about to get under way

I wanted to add a little more power into the overall package. As I'm moving up run groups I'm finding more talent with twice as much HP. Wanted to keep the responce and power to a resonable level so the EvoIII was a logical choice. Also finally got around to taking alot of camber out of the rear since the drop. Hopefully this aleviates some of the heavy understeer.

I think you're going to have trouble with boiling PS fluid and alternator failures.

Here is my new power steering cooler. It's mounted under the passenger floor.

Mass centralization/balance, don't ya know. :p

Got a lot of bolts to turn, and tires to buy, but she's getting real close.

And, as per Chris' request, duct routing pics. Just finished them tonight.

ok , your sway bar just sits up that much higher. I was trying to figure out why I couldn't route my ducts like that for RA, but the a frames and swaybar have more clearance than stock.

I might have to throw something together for autobahn but I don't think it is nearly as hard on brakes as RA

As shown on the bottom pic, the hose actually makes it on the outside of the link also. I ended up routing it there on the passenger side for reasons I cannot fully explain. Not sure if that room is available with stock arms though. That is only 2" hose if that helps, I got it at Pegasus.

I'm not sure the bar is all that much higher, it may be just that I don't have the stock type brackets and links. :sneaky:

I can't wait to hear out it turns out on the track. I ran ducts like those on my 3000GT and had two problems:

1. They get into the half shaft boot and cut it up
2. Fat tires tend to hit them at full lock, and wear them down.

I eventually went to NASCAR blowers and water injection, because I couldn't keep ducts on the 3000GT.

I need something like your system on Mr Never on Sunday, because I am going through brake pads like crazy. My supplier doesn't want to sell me endurance racing pads unless I get some ducting, because they run awful hot. But with the 275 tires, there is very little room in there for a hose.

Road America will be a pisser for me, because I was hitting 147 on the straights, and probably will top that with the new tune. Stopping a car from 150+ mph does tend to heat things up.

I don't get around a racetrack nearly as fast as you do, I was actually told I shouldn't even need the ducts. ROFL I am hoping for a 2.4x something this year however.

Conversely, it may mean I can get away with street pads.:shhh:

I've run endurance pads on the street, believe it or not. Do they actually retain more heat or something? Have you tried 2" hoses?

I am so amped right now, that ugly little thing is at an alignment place right now, drove it today for the first time since fall. That is one mean little toy these days.OMG Haven't even gotten on it past 5psi yet and it already seems sick. Damn, 50 trims are noisy. And the chassis feels... hooked.:thumb:

No, you can't! Street pads, my foot.

I wasn't serious. Even my pathetic laps fade street pads, and with the tire upgrade I'll be able to slow even harder.

I've noticed my race comp. pads kind of crack after street use. Seems I'll be changing pads in the morning after I arrive.:notgood:
