Has anyone fixed their window troubles by installing a new power window motor?? A guy on ebay is selling them.

I've tried most other fixes, its just wicked slow on the way up:barf:

Get some silicone spray and spray the tracks down real good. Soak them puppies.

If that doesn't help, look for binding. You can also use lithium grease on the metallic parts. Do Not use lithium on the window and tracks. You will have great fun getting the stuff off the window.

Good Luck

Where can I get the different sprays you mentioned above?? I'm really up to try anything at this point:thumb: What brand would you recommend?

You can buy lithium grease from any auto retail, and even a few home improvement stores have it. As far as the silicone spray, it's also available at the same places, and even at a few food retailers. Another helpful idea would be to solder another ground to the motor. Use about a 10 guage wire a few inches long. It's worked on a lot of vehicles I've done it to. It's not a fix, but it helps.

Where would you solder the ground too? Like from where to what??

Also, kind of a lame question: What is the purpose of increasing the ground. I don't do electronics:coy:

'Slow windows' are usually caused by one of 2 things: either there is something wrong with the track the glass slides in (inside the door) or the window motor is going bad. It is possible that it might be as simple as the ground to the motor is bad. Check the correction and grounding of the window motor first. Don't be fooled by a window motor that works well on the bench, if it doesn't work well (ie doesn't make the window go up at a reasonable speed) while it's in the door and it's not a bad connection or ground, the motor is usually failing. I hope this helps. PS Be careful of window motors on ebay, some are cheap after market motors. Just be careful.

Well, the best thing you can do is to let the local mechanic check your window motor. And if he says you need to buy a power window motor, then just follow his instructions.
