Power Transistor??

What is your car doing? My guess is that they are refering to the coil pack. The coil pack IS your distributor. ask them where they think this power transistor is. If they point to the unit that has the spark plug wires run into it then that is definatly it. :dsm:

Well when I asked they did say something about the coil. Also they did say that the power transistor is what advances and retards my timing.

Actually, what advances and retards your base ignition timing is you Cam/Crank Angle Sensor. Its on the left side of your valve cover and has a plug connecter on top ... very easy to spot! Hope this helps.

The power transistors(2) are what controls the electrical current to the ignition coils (to fire the spark plugs). They are controlled by the ECU (which takes signals from crank and cam angle sensors and other things). They are both in one black unit near the coils behind the fuel rail in the center with a large black connector on it. If they are bad, your engine is not running (no spark) or runs very badly (weak spark or only 2 plugs are firing).
