Ok well im a lil stumped on what i want to do, i have a 98 eclipse spyder gs bone stock with a 2.4l 4cyl. Now i want to keep the motor ### i dont really have the money to buy a new block, but i want to get atleast 400 whp and 400 ft lb torque out of it. Now like i said it bone stock nothn has been doe to the motor. what would be the best route to hit that much horse power. Oh and i want to keep it a everyday driver. I appreciate the help.

Well it depends how much you want to spend really. Your not going to make 400hp / 400tq without adding some kind of power adder (turbo, nitrous, supercharger). You can take many routes but I'm going to suggest 2. You could build your motor, add a turbo (50 trim, give or take), and run some sort of EMS (Megasquirt, etc.). This is not something that your going to do for cheap. By cheap I'm talking $3000. Even if you find the parts used. If you like your 2g convert, in my honest opinion (and 2nd route), would be to sell it and buy a GS-T Spyder.

thanks for the imput, the only think is if i go to a gs-t thats a 2.0 right i mean itll already have the turbo and what ever but i still have to alot to the engine to get to the 400 hp mark, i have to pretty much get it rebuilt with some damn good parts. See as how i already have my eclipse i think it would be cheaper just to use it instead of trying to sell it and having to probally fork out alot more for the gs-t. My only thing is that its really hard to find a eclipse let alone a gs-t around where i live. I mean i need a transmission for mine and i cant even find a used one in junk yards or anything for like 100s of miles around. But i do understand what ## saying. Ive heard though that i can take a gs-t motor and mix the parts to make my 2.4 sohc into a dohc is that true ### i would imagine that that would help out on getting me some of the way to 400hp if not closer to 200hp then i can turbo it from there after a rebuild to atleast get it to 350hp. What do think about that u think it would work. i mean it might save me some money. I just had a kid not to long ago so im kinda strapped for cash. thanks again though.
