2g Electrical Wisemen/ Gurus Suggetions Please!..

Hey guys, so I finnaly am a proud owner of a 2gb talon!!.
It's a 98 TSI but of coarse has some problems..
A 6 bolt swap is in order due to the seized 7 bolt currently in there. (good thing I was already in the process of building one.. hehe)
I have all the parts to do this and it should be done soon.. However my problems are the electrical problems!!
Lets see:
-My biggest concern is that there are wires running strait into the engine bay fuse box and running into the engine harness?
-My parking lights wont work, only work when I actually turn them on all the way
-Turning signals and hazards wont work
-Defroster wont work
-Horn wont work

I have checked all the fuses and all look good. I've also noticed the interior panels have been taking off prevoiusly, perhaps in attempts to solve the very same problems?
To be honest I am a bit overwhelmed as I know this car has been ghetto rigged and molested electrically. I come from owning a 1g and will be the first one to admit im not good with electrical. Any input from you guys on what to do or where to start would greatly help me out Thanks!

get a test light go to town. Unfortunately for you, the wiring in the car is a mess and you didnt do it so tracing everything down is gonna be tough. Good luck!

Yea.. looks like I have some fun times ahead of me..
Atleast I think I'll be a little better at electrical after all this.
Im going to grab some diagrams next week and get to it..

That sound like the switch.

-Turning signals and hazards wont work
-Defroster wont work

That sound like a fuse or relay. You said you "checked" all of the fuses and they all "look" good. Did you test them or just eyeball them? Did you test the relays?

-Horn wont work

The horn never works..

If it's as much of a hack job as you make it seem, pull it all and run your own.. Sometimes that's the best way. Regardless, if you don't have a GOOD multimeter with an audible notification, now's the time to invest in one.
