So I've been leaking ALOT of power steering fluid and found out it's coming out of the end of my tie rod through the boot, but is it most likely coming out of my power steering box and leaking down? Or does the tie rod actually carry fluid somewhere? The boot is broken I realized, so that probably needs to be fixed too. Is this difficult in itself? I assume it's a seal somewhere, I'll drive it 5 miles and my reservoir will be empty by the time I get there. I need to get this fixed ASAP. It's a 97 automatic Spyder GST. Thanks!

If it's leaking out of the boot then it is most likely coming from the power steering rack/pinion. The boots just act as dust shields, so a torn boot wouldn't cause the leak. The boots are easy to replace, but if your rack/pinion is leaking than you will need to find a reman or pick one up from the junkyard. Not a difficult job, but it will take a little time.

mine is doing the same thing. you can see a tear in the boot which probably started the whole problem. but i'm going for new parts. don't wanna have to something twice.
