I was wondering if it matters what i put in my powersteering system, just to check for leaks. If theres a leak, i don't want my brand new oil leaking all out, basically i'm try to find a cheap substitute, i'm trying some lucas stop leak, to see if that solves my leaking line. Right now my system is pretty empty due to the leak.

i used ATF in my PS, when i had a leak, but it kept leaking so I just took all the PS components out, and too be honest i like the way it drives alot better, you can feel the car responding to you around corners, i like it alot more!
you should think about taking it out

if this happened on my tsi awd car, then thats what i would do, but this is on my non-turbo, the car i am in the process of selling, but only found out about this problem when i moved it from the spot it was for sale at, i guess that start blew the line(very small hole, big leak).
