Power issues, replacing battery didn't resolve issue...

This has happened twice in the past week, the first time I replaced the battery.

I have DSM link programmed to have my boost gauge show battery voltage. Basically this is what happens.

I'll be driving then all the sudden my radar detector will shut down. Next I check my boost gauge and it shows the voltage at the very first tick up (I'm not 100% sure what voltage level that is in DSM link but I'm guessing under 12 volts). I tried wiggling the battery and alternator cable a bit to see if the voltage gauge would move up which it did not.

After turning the car off and letting it cool for 10 minutes, I tested voltage at the battery and alternator which both read 12 volts. I also checked the boost gauge again and it's half way up this time with the engine off...

Right now the car won't start so I put it on the charger.

I'm going to try and start it in a few to see if it starts, I'll clean then connections really well...When I replaced the battery I just cleaned them up with a towel quickly but they looked ok...

Any other ideas?

I had a ground wire loose when this was happening to me and some bad corrosion on the power terminal where the cables meet the terminal that plugs up to the battery.

Which ground wire did you have issues with? I check the two going to the battery and they are tight. I'll try cleaning the contacts at the body.

The one at the back by the battery. It was tight but the connection was dirty
