Alright, so one of the wires, I belive to be yellow, has snapped off at the connector, with a piece brokem off inside the plug. This is the harness wires & plug I'm talking about, the denso oxygen sensor I have is still new & perfectly fine..

I noticed the wire colors are totally different, I saw there is a write-up though describing the wires & what they do though.

is it possible to splice the wire, that would match up to the wire on the oxygen sesnor side of the connector, using krimp sleve connectors? I could probably tell which wires meet with the others, looking at both the connectors carefully, just wondering if the oxygen sensor wire can even be spliced

If not I'll have to buy a plug from a junkyard hopefully, that'd be fun

Yes you can do that. Should work fine.

Imo it would be better to get a plug, lots of connections in our cars use that plug.

how sure are you? I heard the oxygen sensor cable itself is really fragile, I just don't want to destroy a brand new sensor, in an attempt to fix a plug...I wouldn't hesistate to go to a junkyard if the closest one wasn't a cupple hours away, even then IDK how many dsms are there..

but the garage is full of red krimp sleves :D

I've done it and it works fine. I'd stay away from those crimp sleeves though, solder it up instead. Those sleeves are horrible for anything exposed to the elements. FYI a few of the OE replacement oxygen sensors come without a plug. They expect you to do exactly that, solder it to your old plug. The one I got was (i believe) from autozone a few years ago. Factory stripped and everything, no plug.

I would say if possible try to refrain from cutting up your factory harness. You can actually re-pin the plug by removing the metal clip from the terminal where it broke off with a set of metal picks. You can purchase new pins online or hobby shops usually carry them as well just strip and crimp on the new pin and push it into the plug. Not to long ago I watched a video on a universal o2 install they said not to solder that connection because the sensor needs air to circulate between the wire this is the first time I have heard of this though.

How would the wire get "air" when it's covered in insulation....? Unless they meant the wire as a whole, not the copper itself, just to keep it cool it seems like b.s to me. Both times I've done this I've soldered the wires and then elec taped them with NO ill effects till this day.

It is recommended when installing these "Universal" o2 sensors that you crimp them with an appropriate connector that also has a heat shrink on it. In theory the solder joint would corrode faster than just plain wires crimped together. If I had to install a universal one I would solder and heat shrink it very well. Preferably shrink tube with an adhesive lining.

Personally I would not use the "Universal" o2 sensor. They are a high failure part and usually comes with questionable directions to say the least that can lead to a lot of damage. Best bet is to source a pin like others have said and re-pin it. That should be the end goal but if you need something temporary you can easily go to radioshack and pick up a 4 pin female and male connector and switch to that while you try to source a proper OE replacement.

If you're worried about a universal, don't be. It's dead easy to figure out, and so long as you don't have a wire clipping seizure in the process, it is harmless. I have one in my car right now, and it works fine. I really don't give a damn about the wiring harness... Half of it is too small anyhow. I've rewired most of it, mainly to just make everything behave.
