I remember that thread, That was probably the most difficult thing I ever tried to figure out on a DSM in the 4 years I have been doing this.
As far as Kevin goes. That guys the Smartest DSM'er I've ever had the plesure of learning from.

Agreed!

What did you come up? I haven't been able to find confirmation either way, so I'm going with the "push it till it knocks" approach. Provided it stays warm enough out that I can finish the tune before putting her back in storage for the winter.

Ive heard so far that stock composite headgaskets dont usually get munched till 26 +.
unless a lot of knock is in the picture. How much max timing was he able to get with a 11.1 afr @ 21 psi before he went to e85?

No knock was in the picture. The stock head gasket is on there and has seen lots of boost for along time. Mileage says over 180k. He had timing pulled all the way, and MMCD was saying he had about 17-19*. When he installed e85 with the timing at stock he was hitting 22-24* on MMCD.

Not bad... If i dont get impatient in the future and jump on meth, then i will get E85 whenever it comes to my area. I think i could pull off 24-25 psi on a evo3 with 850s and a rewired walbro 255 hp on E85... It would definitely be a consideration.
