is the 2.0 liter non-turbo motor in the plymouth laser a 4g63? Its rated at 135 hp. And is it possible to put a stock dsm turbo on it if it didnt come turbo charged?

Yes the 2.0 in the Laser would be a 4G63 and it is possible to turbocharge it. However, There are several other things you would want to consider while doing so. Look through the N/T to turbo conversion forum. You'll find alot of great information. Just make sure you're looking at the 1G 4G63 posts not the 95-98 420A posts.

Dang its a pretty big job. I was just wondering all this cause i found a laser with a decent body and a blown transmission for 350!!!! By the time i buy all the parts to do a convert your talking another 1500 dollars easy. Unless i can get a spare motor and tranny pretty cheap.

It might be cheaper for you to just find a turbo car already. Look for and AWD you won't regret it. However, If the body is really good on the laser you might be able to part off the pieces or sell it as a rolling chassis for more then 350. I guess you just have to weigh your options.

Yeah im going to get a turbo car. Its not worth the swap. Im not going to buy the car cause its not worth my time or effort to part it out. If anybody wants the car its near detroit. Check craigslist.com thats where i found it.
