So, my car has been down for more than two months because of this noise. no one can seem to help me. Now, I have already taken the timing cover off and ran it like that. It still makes the noise. I checked and replaced the tensioner pulley and checked the idler pulley. I am completley out of ideas. Update. Ok, found my problem. It was the balance shafts. It was so bad that the bearing had actually fallen out and was just floating around in the block. I'm doing the elimination kit, so hopefully I'll have it fixed soon.
 
Not to mention the condition of the shafts...

I just seen this post and wacthed your video and that is exactly what i though it was . I have a wierd noise coming from the timing belt area that sounds like a plastic lid in a bicycle spoke and i need to tear it down and see what the heck it is.
 
well after putting everything back together we took her out 4 a test drive it was good 4 about a week...then the noise its back...let you know how it goes on a complete tare down.
