Please Help With Interior Lights!!

i recntly discovered that my gauge lights (needles,and gauges and hvacc) only work when the key is in the on position and my headlights are on (obviosly)....however as soon as i start the car they shut off...i thought the reverse light switch was the problem so i bought a new one and nothin...please some one help

What model/engine is this? If these are aftermarket lights what did you wire them into? Do your hgauge lights work with the ignition off but headlights on? Did you work on anything recently? Did you check all fuses?

i have a 96 n/t....2 years ago i installed reverse indiglo gauges...i tapped them into the the instrument fuse with an external splitter....the lights stopped working shortly befor i took my car off the road november...i just installed l.e.d.s but this problem started before.....yes i checked fuses as i stated before every thing turns on when the key is in the on position and the headlights are on but the interior lights shut off as if they were an accesory (they go off with the buzzer) and they wont come back on...it is really wierd because the hvacc,needles and gauges dont work but the headlights do.....
