ok so i have a 92 gsx, its an automatic.. a few weeks ago i noticed the manifold was all cracked up and so was the housing around the turbo..
so i replaced the exhaust manifold with a 2nd gen manifold and upgraded the 13g turbo to a 14b. i also got a k&n intake filter at the same time. i still have 390cc injectors.
so anyway my check engine lite cam on.. it read 1)barometric presure sensor,2)air temperture, and 3)TPS. so today i parked at chell gas station and turned my car off, then when i went back it wouldnt start. i figured a blown maf. so i got a nother maf from this kid and installed it in the parkinlot. now that its in my check engine lite came on again. does anyone kno what my prob is? i really need help

Do you have a boost controller if so whatcha boostin? What I'm looking at is you have too small of injectors maybe. Need more fuel? How are you battery terminals looking? Alarm?
Chris

no alarm, stock boost, nice bat terminals.. i kno i get a bit of knock when my turbo spools but its hard for me to start my car.. like it takes a few secs, n once it does it idles a bit weird.. then after a few seconds :30-1:00 the check engine light will come on. and i just replaced the maf so i dont kno whats going on, you dont think it could be a blown ecu or something right?
or any other ideas?

hard for you to start your car?
and when yor car died at shells how sure are you that it was your maft?
only thing i can think of right now is a dying fuel pump

well why dont you chek the barometric pressure sensor and the tps. the bar sensor is the one on top of the intake manifold. the tp is on the throttle body. have a friend let you chek with his. or chek them with a multymeter and a haynes manual

i have a 1g, the barometric sensor is in the maf not on the I/M

i had a similar problem happen to me i was driving around and my check engine light came on so i turned it off check under the hood everything looked fine i tryed to start the car and it wouldnt start. i applyed a little gas and cranked it and it started but had a horrible idle. so i just unplugged the egr lets it cool pluged it back in. started it and it started fine then i turned the car back off and unplugged the egr for good and no more problems. try that. every time i plugged the egr back it i get problems but u should try it couldnt hurt.

i THINK i may have found the problem, i opened my ECU up just now and one of the caps i replaced was leaking... im going to have it replaced later 2night and ill let everyone know how it goes

It still might be the ecu. The ecu provides the ground for the MAF. So if the ecu is screwed it won't ground the maf (and other sensors) and it will throw a cel. You could try two things. 1 is swap out the ecu and see if that fix's it. 2 Or tee in a ground to a senser like the egr temp senser if you have one. If not some other sensor. That will ground the rest of the sensors and prolly fix your problem.

The ecu mainboard may have already been damaged from the cap leaks. pm steve, DSMwiseman, he fixes ecus. Good luck.
