I cant wait to see if the tranny takes the beating. :) I have an A/T and im getting a end clutch, shift kit, and tranny cooler. I want to see if it will take 400 hp and for how long.

Well my trans was in pretty good condition prior to this. I have done the shift kit, end clutch kit, and dean mason did my converter. He feels that the shift kit and end clutch kit really do the job on helping keep these things together. But I don't worry, because at this power level, the M/T guys are in the same boat. So no matter what you have it is a real test on parts. Also I am not gonna be launching at every street light. I can't afford to break it all the time, so I am gonna get it tuned, take it to the track once, then be reserved with it. If it does take a crap, I'm taking it to dean and let him beef it up for me.

No huge progress, but I got the brackets and things on the motor. Unfortunately I thought I could take the water pipe off without removing the thermostat housing and I got rough with her, it was late and I got grumpy.... So I ended up screwing up my water pipe. Luckily I found another one the same day and it will be here early next week. Once I get that, my HKS EVC and my turbo timer, I WILL ACTUALLY HAVE EVERYTHING!!!! well, that I know of right now, and after finals next week, the car will be going together a lot faster. On average, it feels like I work on my car once every two weeks. Next time I post I will put some updated pics up.

Well you all expected me to be done by now.... you are all wrong!!! I still have been busy to the max! Anyhow I worked on it all day today and I got the interior all back together and gauges installed. Also some other little tedious things were done. Basically, I'm there, I have to get back underneath the car, bolt the starter in, put the transfer case up, slip the downpipe on, and put the FMIC back in. So really the hardest part is over! So here is the pic of my gauge set up, out of the picture is my turbo timer, it is mounted to the left of the hood release.

For what it's worth....

gritsak ran an 11.3 with his 2.3L and 60-1 at only 21 psi... Those types of numbers shouldn't be too difficult to replicate with your setup and some good tuning/driving.

Well there was another delay, I am done minus hanging the intercooler, which everything is already done for that. I went to bolt up my O2 eliminator exhaust made by you know who..... anyways, the downpipe fits like sh%t. It is right on my transfer case, it is squishing the flex section damn near 1/2". It already took two months to get the exhaust in the first place, now I have to box it up send it back and hope it comes out right this time. I paid top dollar for the stainless steel turbo back kit, and was extremely patient and it is absolutely off. I am giving them the benifit of the doubt, but I would like to see them send me a box, since I don't have one that size handy. They should get it in a day, two most since we are both in CA. And fixed!!! Sorry guys, I'm just venting since there have been so many delays and this was the last thing I wanted to deal with. If they don't want to deal with me, they are going to get it back and I will get an exhaust elsewhere. Who else makes a good o2 eliminator exhaust?

I can not for the life of me figure out why people still buy parts from there. There are probably over 25 complaints about their exhaust fitment, or lack thereof.

If your still using the SSautochrome Tubular exhaust mani, that is the problem, the turbo flange is clocked just enough to cause that problem.

I never had an SSautoJUNK manifold, it is a pacesetter, which retains the stock location.

Have you ever used one? Most folks that talk trash about them here never have. I am sure that it is only a matter of time before it cracks, just like most tubular headers that have a 20lb turbo hanging off of them. But port wise at the head it matched perfectly. I did have to port the collector quite a bit as it is designed for a 5 or 6 CM turbo, but there was plenty of meat there to do it. If the time comes when it cracks, I will probably replace it with a ported EVO manifold or the SBR manifold.

I'm still waiting for my exhaust as well... Doesn't seem very pormisning that it will fit correctly. If it doesn't I'm just going to take it to a shop and have it fixed. Waiting 3 months for an exhaust is obserd. Good thing the car is still in pieces or I would be having a fit. I'm looking forward to you getting this thing put together. I can't wait to see how she handles.

My downpipe will be fixed on monday, the rest of my parts will be showing up on the 4th. So it is coming together, just not as quickely as I would have liked it to be. So I am focusing on cleaning up the garage and straightening up the tools.

A clean garage is a safe garage, and a quick garage. ;) Im still can't wait to see how this turns out. Keep truckin' :thumb:

I seem to neglect the garage during a project. ATM I have 4 Motors tore apart in the garage. 2 Tranny's and a ton of tools out of place. This next weekend My garage should be straight again. If their wasn't snow everywhere I would might even do some work.

Yeah, its out of control, I still have mustang parts all over the place! I can't seem to ever find any tools, so despite how much I want to work on the car, I have got to get organized first. At least I finished the interior a few days ago. I got all of my gauges, turbo timer, boost controller, and ECU plus wired and installed.

if your going to run more then 400 hp will the machv ucu upgrade going to support that much power? becuase i'm doing a 2.3 stroker on my 98 gs-t. i heard you should use the aem ems? but that just what i heard. eny advice would be awesome

i am not famliar with the machv ecu upgrade. i plan on using dsmlink on a 2.4 motor in my 97 gst. not sure if i will need anything else or if i can just use dsmlink, but that is what i'm planning

Well it runs, but there are some bugs to work out. The stock junk turbo is pushing oil into the exhaust side. The seals are no good I guess. Also I have a pesky oil leak I haven't found yet. Not to jump to any conclusions but it might be from the rear main. I'm not sure how a brand new seal could be leaking but you never know. Tommorow I will find out if I am looking at having to pull the trans or not. The converter is awsome, on the stock turbo it stalls to 3800 and launches hard! It is like night and day between the stock converter and the reworked one. So after driving it around a bit, it is time for the holset turbo to go on there now.

I have confirmed it today, the oil leak is coming from the rear main or rear cover. It looks like the trans has to come out :thumb: hurray!

Did you put a gasket on the rear cover with silicone in the corners?? Also there is a oil control ring that needs to go back on behind the crank seal. It can be put in upside down. Sucks the trans has to come out. They are a bi*** putting them back in on a grage floor using a floor jack. It also being a cold floor doenst help any. . I hate winter

I just went through this not to long ago and if I remember right there is no gasket...just HIGH TEMP RTV. Although I'm known to have a terrible memory.

He's in Cali. But I've been working on my car all winter in Illinois. Just fire up a reddy heater or a nice kersone heater. You'll wake up with some nice headaches in the morning.

I can't complain about temperature really. It hasn't got too cold in Ca. I did use plenty of RTV on the back of the cover. I just checked to make sure it wasn't the PCV valve causing excess crank pressure, but it is good. So the trans is coming out.
