Now i have checked the vacuum hoses, and all of them are tight and snug.
The vacuum hose to the brake system was loose, tightened it, but no difference.

I took off the CAI, and tried to see if the TB was stuck open, but it was closed.
But, now the sucking sound got much louder, so i tried to block off the IAC bypass, it sucked so hard i almost got stuck.
So, that could be the problem right? IAC won't close properly, so the idle stays high all the time?
When i pump the brake, it idles even higher, then fall down again. Probably because of added vacuum from the brakesystem into the intake.

I have unscrewed the TB and removed the IAC, but the screws to the IAC broke.. Both!

I want to order a new TB. Which is recomended? Stock? 55mm? And new sensors..

You mean you striped it; this is common when you don’t apply enough force to it. There always is the option of re-taping if you can’t twist them out with a tool.

If you’re considering an upgrade pick up the modern performance TB (60mm). You can also choose a 60mm jeep TB from your local junk yard/Ebay, but you will need to do some modifications to make it work. Your TPS + IAC should be a direct fit. You might want to consider porting the stock IM for better results. Don’t forget to replace the IAC O ring!! Have you found out where that sucking noise is coming from? If it is as loud as you say it is it should be a piece of cake. I wonder if gasket for the EGR tube behind the IM is damaged when you took off the head. The only way to test the IAC is to measure the two outer pins then measure the two inner pins for ohms should be around 30-50 ohms per coil, if it reads something like infinity then its shot. (but i doubt its the motor due to your "sucking noise") I personal like testing them on my Jimstim v1.4. :rocks:

Well, the head of the screw broke right off. I'll get it out though.

It comes from the IAC bypass hole. It even whistles when i push the throttle.

All gaskets are new. I dont think any of them have failed.

I'll do that! Hope it's shot.. The sucking noice moves from the air filter to the TB when i remove the pipes, so it's something in the TB..

Now I have ordered a new IAC, so i hope that is a final fix this time around..

Now, the car runs great, after changing the IAC.
Idle is now back to normal, and head change is a success!
Allthough, ALOT of vibration after changing the motormounts with prothane.. Normal?

Thanks for all the advice, i could not have done this without the DSMtuners network of experts=)

Ok, thanks. Good to know!
Next project will be vibration and sound supressing. Any tips for me? Maybe a guide?

What should the idle rpm's be at? Mine is 800, which i think is too low.
I'll screw the IAC cone till it gets right. 1000 or 1100rpm's maybe?
