Need to rebuild my engine and want to get block machined. With that I’ve been looking into what pistons I can get for the 420A and I’m only finding generic ones. Which pistons are recommended to push the car a bit more but still in the “reliable” side?

It's JE/Wiseco/etc forged or stock replacement, there is nothing in between. The rods are the weak point anyways - if you exceed the ~250 foot pounds of torque they'll take, you need H-beam rods. The piston question is largely irrelevant at that point since H-beam rods require a different piston pin style than the stock pistons have.
