pin 11 on a 1g DL connector/vss output check?

I'm wanting to check for vss output and I've read that you can do so off of pin 11 on the diagnostic connector. The way I understand it, I'd just hook up a voltmeter between pin 11 and ground and look for voltage pulses while the car is moving. Thing is, I don't know which is pin 11, or whether or not I need to ground pin 10 for the test to work.
Any help? Beuller? Beuller?

If the connector is still attached to the fuse box that would make pin 11 the second from the bottom on the right side.

No you don't have to ground pin 10 to check it.
