Piece Broke! But, What is it?

I was lookn under the hood other day and noticed this pices just kinda sittn there and noticed it had broken off from this one thing i dunno, but heres some pics from where it broke off from

and heres some pics of the piece that broke off, its solid hard and decently heavy, sumone said it was a damper or something but didnt know, so was just wondering if anyone knows wut it is and best way to get new one/replace it. And the part that broke off gots this black rubber type cement glue stuff on it, like a big heat sink or something dunno.

It is a motor mount dampener. When your engine is running, your motor shifts around. The mounts from the factory are made to try and make the driver not feel the motor move because it would cause a vibration, rumbling, loud noise, etc. Which would be mean the average American would complain. That dampener/weight was put on there to help cushion the action of the motor so that the ride is even more comfortable. If you can tell a difference and you don't like the ride, replace it. Or, you couild go the other way and get polyurethane motor mounts which make for a rougher ride, but are better for overall performance of your car.
