vegasbounddsm, very very clean engine bay. I like it a lot. On your wastegate dump tube, did you route it straight down and then connect it to the downpipe or is it still dumped?

what i did was a straight shot down to the floor , no i didnt go back into the downpipe, the old design was that it was shooting it back in to the block i notice when i was boosting alot the temp was getting hotter, havent had any problems

I noticed the same problem when I had mine dump tube back in, If the connection is to close to the turbo outlet it can cause "problems" (not so much a problem as in loss of horsepower, someone back me up on the science behind this)

So mine goes striaght into the ground now as well.

Anyways back on topic.

Blitz, your engine bay looks like it has never seen an exhaust leak, a broken coolant line, or even an unfiltered vacume leak in its entire life. Good work, and what do you use to keep it so clean?

Ivan300: Im working with the same kit you are and i would love to see a ton of pics as soon as you finish. Especially of how you mounted the intercooler and how you routed your pipes. And is your turbo clocked downward? i was planning on clocking mine upward because i didnt think it would fit so i would love to see detailed photos. Feel free to PM me if you want.

here are more pics, finally done

Looks good, man. I like how both cores are on the same side.

BigRand- I pretty much powdercoated everything. It's much easier to keep clean, and gives a cleaner look too. Most of the time when I touch up the bay I just use a damp towel with warm water, or some solvent for greasy tasks. After that I wax the powdercoating. That's another good thing about it, you can wax it to get an even glossier look. I also check alot of the bolts for anything loose, just to prevent anything from leaking, busting, etc. The cleaner you keep it, the easier to spot any leaks or grime build up. That way you can spot it early and prevent it from getting worse in the future.

Smart, I plan on cleaning up mine in the rebuild.

oh yea i had to hack most of the lower part of the support. I was surprised the fmic fit much better than in the picture that was posted on 2gnt.

Over all i am very pleased with the kit everything was excellent except for the oil lines/ fittings

Guys, if you haven't done so, please host your pictures on DSMTuners. If something ever happens, like your Photobucket account gets deleted, or the picture is otherwise lost, then this thread will become useless in the future. I want this thread to serve as an archive for future 2GNTers.
