I wish I could boost mine. But Im scared to boost it on a stock motor.

Trust me dont boost your motor stock, i boosted my 420a at 8 pounds and blew the motor. Now my motors fully built and boosted at 15 pounds no problem

Ive been thinking about a supercharger kit for the 420a. I know a few have done it and think it would be an interesting change of pace. I got an m90 supercharger and the manifold built and put together just got stuck on last min it deployment so its still in the works. Every ones set ups look really nice tho sorry for getting off topic.

I personally would like to see this! i would like to see the HP gains of a supercharger compared to turbo charged

supercharger has been done before. it sucked. 2.0 is too small to see real power out of a super charger. a kit used to be made for the 420a. twin screw supercharger. it sucked and they quit making them.

I think superchargers benefit more from v8s and such - i know my foxbody mustang loved the supercharger, but that was a 351windsor.

also remember with a setup like there there is no intercooler so you would have to run a crap ton of meth injection.

Could you not install an intercooler to correct that issue?

Not trying to tread jack but if you are only running 8 psi or less you really don't need an intercooler. The on in the pic is off of a gm 3800 and they bolt right to the intake with no intercooler. It is a good idea put the air is not charged the same as a turbo so its cooler. You may run i little hotter then normal but as long as you are not running real high boost you don't need it. Ive got a thread on supercharged 420a if you want to talk more find it and post so not to jack this thread.

do you have room to put a stock hood on? looking at the 4th pic down it looks like the motor sticks out higher then normal.maybe just the angle?

Well, im not an eclipse, so that doesn't help, and its a 2.4 swap, so it is taller and angled. My hood is notched on the inside to clear the cam gear. Good eye

seen people asking about a supercharged 420a, heres mine, right now its in about 500 pieces getting a new block built, the last one was said to me when i bought it to be built, i found out quick it was not , bent number 1 rod, guess the sc was to much for the stock engine. anyways it will be done this summer and will completely look different, different colors and lots of new parts, was thinking of twin charging it, still need ms. but i got the turbo kit so i said why not, i started a build thread a month or two ago, just finished sand blasting everything and the engine bay is flat black now, going to tuck the engine harness so thats been removed already. im going to completely make my own engine harness cause i want the fuse box and everything inside the car and im sure everyone knows theres not much room in there, so ill make my own and make it all shorter so i dont have so many wires inside, heres a few pics of before and now, also that body kits gone now, and the factory bumpers will go back on, car will be gun metal grey and engine will be flat orange and flat black, sc will be flat orange sticking out the hood

i know this thread is old, but im bored , if you look at the engine pic you will see the piston on the right is a hair lower then the one on the left and thats due to the bent rod, heres the built block going in there and heres the bay all primered up now, it was pretty nasty and the fastest way to clean it up and sand it was to just sand blast it all off, which worked like a charm
