Alright so I pretty much have everything I need except for the most important part... the turbo. I'm pretty much set on getting a Garrett Dual Ball Bearing. What I can't decide is if I should get the GT-25R or the GT-28RS "Disco Potato". I have already built up my bottom end and lowered my compression. I haven't done anything to my head, but I plan on it in the near future.

What it comes down to is that I'm not sure if I'm gonna be happy with the power that I'll get out of the GT-25R. I was thinking I might get it for now and upgrade in the future.

If any one has either of these turbos and could tell me what they think of them and/or how much power they are getting out of them I'd really appreciate it.

I have no experience with either of these turbos personally, but my cousin is building a Suzuki Swift GT and for his final set up he will go with nothing less than the GT28rs disco potato. It is supposed to have great spool time (even on a 1.35L Swift!) and still capable of pushing 300+ HP (pretty much the most anyone has ever gotten out of a Suzuki Swift 1.3L). It would be a great autocross turbo, and still a respectable street/drag turbo. Just dont expect to make 1000HP on it. If you want more info in it I can talk to my cousin and see what he has to say about the turbo.

yeah i'm not expecting a whole lot of hp out of my 420A but at least 300 would be nice. I just don't know if I'd be able to get that out of a GT-25R on my motor.

Back when I was planning on turbocharging my 420a, I had my sights on the Potato. If you do some readong up on it, you'll find many people say it's the turbo that spools like a supercharger. You could very well find yourself in boost more often than not. While it might run out of steam around 300-350chp on your engine, it will certainly be a LOT of fun. Like was said above, it would make an excellent autoX turbo. Fast response and good times at the slightest move of the right foot.

Personally, I would not take anything smaller than the GT28R. You should forget the GT25 and make your decision between the GT28R and maybe a GT30.

Awesome thanks alot. I think I've pretty much made up my mind since cost is much of an issue. The GT-28RS is only an extra like $350 any ways.

Any suggestions on where to find a map sensor fix?
