Picked up a 6 bolt..Questions.

Hey all, I picked up a 6 bolt longblock, it needs a rebuild, but we'll get to that.

So far on the parts list:

Pistons (Suggestions?)
Aftermarket rods? (Maybe? 1g big rods enough for a 50 trim?)
Rings
Bearings
Valve Cover
Oil Pan (Suggestions?)
6 bolt timing belt assembly
1g CAS
1g TB
1g coil pack (According to Magnus I need one)

So far that's what I have, I'll be using parts off of my 7 bolt that will be coming out.

Am I over looking anything? From what I've read it's the CAS mod and to shave a motor mount near the lower timing belt cover so it will fit.

i could tell you to search...but that wont do you any good.
hu..let me see...
you will need the basic rebuild stuff.
pistons.....i went with WISECO 8.5:1 .30over bore
Rods....money was an issue so i stuck with the 1g
you also need the oilpump with frontcover..i would replace it regardless of what people say..
bearings, i got clevilite 77
you may want to get ARP headstuds along with an MLS headgasket
i would advice you to rebuild the head while you are at it, have the valve seals and valves as well as valve guides replace with new ones. Depending on your goal you might want to port it or buy one from slowboyracing.com or any other vendor.
the coilpack? who told you this....use eversingle sensor (minus the cam and crank senor) out of your 7bolt, reuse your fuel system (you are upgrading this right?) the ignition off the 7bolt will work just fine, you need to relocate alot of the stuff like the bracket for the coilpack and relocate the powertransistor for the ignition(not sure if thats what its called), you need to follow up the wiring diagram from RRE on wiring up the CAS using method number two.
you do need to modify your 2g engine mount as well as the timing belt cover from the 1g (its not that hard to do)
You need to modify the waterlines if you are going to use the t25 till you get the 50trim, if you already have them you need to plug the coolant lines to the turbo.
you need one of those universal flexible radiator hoses for the bottom coolant hose...........
ohoh and you need to get www.dsmlink.com to eliminate Random missfire and also to tune your car since you will be running bigger injectors........

valve cover...either one is fine either the 1g or 2g as long as they are not cracked
the oilpan off the 6 bolt you need to reuse that unless your going all out and buying a MOROSSO oilpan $$$$
i would advice you to replace EVERY single gasket and seal on the engine while its out..i mean if your going to do something like this do it right and do it once


BTW are i going to get a 1g head or are u going to port the shit out of the 2g head?
and intake manifold what will get a 1g or a VENOM or somthing else....
if you dont have a tbody get a 1g and STAY AWAY from the TB off 90dsms get one thats 91-94.... and use the 2g TPS

Exhaust manifold shouldnt be a problem if your going for a t3t4 50 trim cause youll need a manifold for that....

what else......

oh i guess its easier if you just get a complete sixbolt motor cause you dont have to mess with all the mod work to make a 2g head fit on a 1g block.......i mean you already have lots of work ahead of you..
if you get a 1g head youwont have to worry bout it not fitting cause well it was made to go with a 1g block.....
