Just finished the installing a PTT twin disc. I can't get the pedal adjusted right. I was under the impression that the clutch needed an ultra short throw but after a few hours of slow adjusting the only point at which the clutch will fully disengauge is with the master rod out to the max and the pedal to the floor. Really hard to push too. using a 2g slave and master with a PTT TOB and billet fork. I had a pedal stop but had to remove it to get enough throw. should it be like this? I have no room to adjust it any higher. should it be super stiff?

Do you have the Isuzu slave?

Hopefully there's something in there that will shine a light on things for you. But, afaik, you need the Isuzu slave.

And it should be relatively light, not stiff. At least so they say; I don't own one.

one idea occured to me at work last night, quartermaster requires a flywheel spacer on their twin discs. do I need one on my PTT? I bought it used so idk whats supposed to come with a new one. that would explain alot.

I'm not running the isuzu slave (yet). according to PTT and everyone else running this clutch if you were to give the clutch a full pump of the pedal like I have to, the pressure plate would become over extended and damaged. While for me I can barley get the clutch to disengauge nevermind overextend..

I heard they're supposed to be relitivley soft aswell. softer pressure with more surface area is the idea. If it stops raining today I'll try bleeding it again but there shouldn't be any air in it. something is definatley not right though.. I'm stumped

Yeah, i run the ptt as well and the pedal definitely isn't hard. When i first put the clutch in with the izuzu slave the clutch wouldn't disengage. The throw was just not enough. So i just threw the 2g slave back on and used washers on the bolts for the slave and got the clutch where it wouldn't overthrow and bend the disks. The clutch has been incredible and has been going strong through 2 years of track time. It's just weird because i had to do the complete opposite of what everyone else had to do to get this clutch right.

Just bled it now. the hydraulics are working normally as expexted. the fork moves all the way to the passenger side so it must be something with the clutch height right? or pivot ball height perhaps? (it's new). clutch sitll just barley lets go. I can get it into gear but grinds bad.

I can't find anything on a flywheel spacer does anyone know if it should be installed with one?

EDIT: ok so it's a height problem below you can see when the fork is centered there is about 3/8"+ of play between the PP and TOB. the picture with the fork to the far passenger side is where the TOB actually contacts the PP. I doubt I can shim the pivot ball that much. why would the clutch height be off so much?? and why is mine barley extending when everyone elses is over extending with a 2g slave?

This clutch does not come with a spacer. Everything that you should have is pictured below. You could try an extended slave rod but that would only be putting a band-aid on the situation. Problem could be the pedal assembly. Not that common but happens.

I'm gana pull it tomorrow and see whats up most likley going to end up shimming the pivot ball. I did find out that this clutch has a "high torque PP" not sure if that changes the height but shims are the only option I see as of now.

1 thick washer did the trick. works perfect and feel softer than stock, nice :thumb: you can actually shim the pivot ball without fully droping the trans, just pull it back an inch and get in behind the fork boot with a rachet wrench.

I just installed my ptt and i can't get it to disengage. I have no shim and the Isuzu slave. The pedal is soft and i have bled it a few times. I also have the clutch pedal adjusted all the way out and it still won't disengage.
I'm going to replace the slave with a my factory one and try to get it to disengage. If not ill pull the tranny inspect the clutch and put a shim under the pivot ball. :(
Anybody have problems getting this clutch to disengage? How far should the clutch fork be toward the trans case when it is disengaged? thanks
