PCV question?

When presurized air from the intake side hits the PCV is it suposed to let any of that pressure out or should it hold it all?? Thanx

The valve allows pressure/air out, but does not allow air in. Pull it out and suck on it. One way air will come through and one way it won't.

The PCV valve needs to seal and keep the pressure in the intake from leaking out. When the intake is under vacuum the PCV will open to vent the rocker cover.

Thats what I thought. The one in it is leaking and the new one I bought is no good either. I read somehwere the at the ones from the dealer are the be st. Is that true or should I just go get another one from somewhere better.. Thanx

I have better luck with ones from the dealer but I still have to test them. I explain to the parts guys what the problem is and ask them to pressure test it before I'll pay for it.

It used to be that I could count on the OEM valves being good but once Mitsubishi stopped selling turbo cars that used that valve they must have changed the specs because bad ones started showing up.
