PCV Question. What should I change.

Currently I have my PCV valve going straight to my JMF Race manifold. It does have a check valve in the line however because of the common PCV valve failures. The breather on my valve cover then goes to a vented catch can and to nothing else this is the way I got the car after boostin tuned it for the previous owner. (car had 16g I upgraded to FP green and JMF manifold). Shouldn't I run that catch can back to the intake? And should I get another catch can between the PCV valve and the intake manifold? Or is it not super necessary. Any other routes I can go with this stuff?

I plan on putting around 1000 miles on the car until winter time and I'll get some AN fittings in the valve cover and a all new catch can setup probably.

I would recommend running dual sealed (with baffles) catch cans. The first sealed can would vent from the side of the valve cover to the intake (pre-turbo), The second sealed (with baffles) can run inline from the OE PCV location on the valve cover, to the in intake manifold. The check valve would be best plumbed between the catch can and intake manifold.

Here is what I am referring to:

This is the setup I was looking at and thought would work the best. Just kinda wanted to make sure. How bad is it to run my car the way I was talking about for a little bit? This PCV setup you're talking about would be 450 to 500hp capable?

I would cap off your vented catch can where the filter/vent is. Run a line from the catch can to the intake pipe. If you are looking to go larger, increase the size of the vent lines and/or run more than one. Routing to the intake (pre-turbo) would allow vacuum under load.

But you would leave it on the breathe spot on the head not the PCV valve? What about this setup I saw someone else use on the site, but with a line to the intake.

You can run your catch can setup however you wish. It's your car. There are multiple ways others configure their setup, but I was only giving my opinion based on what I run, and have researched.

The stock setup is optimal for most applications and is rather efficient. The main draw back is the line size. Larger fittings/lines will make it even more effective. A vented can is less efficient because it does not operate under vacuum like a sealed unit would.

Here is some more good info if you are interested:

Yes sir read that whole article today, as well as a few others. I think I am going to run it similar to the way I posted. Need to get it running and only have access to one catch can that isn't vented right now. Come winter time I'll go all out new catch cans, fittings, line, with an fittings in the valve cover.
