pcv Question/burning oil

ok ive been doing some reading because im burning oil once in awhile it seems kinda random but normally when im stepping on it. ive read that if the pcv isnt working it can cause you to burn oils so i took mine out and gave it the shake test and thats good also tried blowing through each end i can blow through the threaded end fine which is what i want from what ive heard and then if i blow from the other end some times it leaks a little bit and some times i cant blow anything through it. so i guess what im asking is should i get a new pcv or is a little bit of leaking like that ok or do i maybe have another cause for my burning oil compression test good 150 across all 4 if i remember right checked the turbo it has very little shaft play probably about 1/16 in. later today im going to try and check the ic piping for oil.

Good job researching the topic beforehand.
You want to get a new pcv that doesn't leak (even a little bit is to much in my opinion).

do i need to go to the dealer and get an oem one or could i go to shucks or some local store and pick one up ive heard the oem ones are the only one you wanna get but i donno

Dealer is your best bet. But make sure you still check them before you leave.
