Ok so where to start. My galant was running great, few boost leaks. So I fixed the boost leaks andtightened all lines and clamps . Went for a test drive and it misfires in nearly any boost range. Checked a few times through out the day as Ihad time . Nothing changed. Now I only bring this up to lead into my other issue.

The other day I noticed I had a oil leak ssomewhere. I realized it was coming from my dip stick and right away ordered a pcv valve. Replaced that and the dip stick seemed to stay down. But then today after a drive noticed oil was ddripping in my under carriage andventing from my oil cap . I'm at a loss. Could it be anything else besides rings? Oil smells slightly gas like as well . I will not get to do a compression test until Monday. So anything else to look for? About an hour ago I put the valve cover breather like back into the intake instead of vented to see if it helps.

1 : Good job jumping to the PCV.

2 : Always keep that secondary breather fixed to a vacuum source. Whether or not people have issues or not with it, it's supposed to function with vacuum to assist in venting the crank case. Preferably with a catch can, however, to keep your intake system clean. :p

3 : There isn't a whole lot to say that doesn't point at rings if you've replaced the PCV aside from a bad seal in the turbo allowing boost to source into your crank case. Do a proper compression and leakdown test and all will be revealed.

4 : Out of curiosity - what plugs are you running, how do they look, and what is the gap?

Dipstick popping out - happens due to crankcase pressure pushing the dipstick up:

* A good running motor will blow out a dip stick with a shriveled hard rubber seal
* A dead motor (lots of blow by, busted pistons) will blow out a good dipstick
* A 1/2 dead motor will blow out a 1/2 dead dip stick

Depending on the actual cause and the severity, the fixes can be:

* A spring/wire to hold the dipstick down
* Pinch the tube at the top a bit
* Get a new dipstick
* A full engine rebuild or new pistons

hope this helps...

These are not acceptable fixes. These are bandaid fixes that are not solving the original problem. Most of the time, if the engine is running good, the likely culprits are bad pcv or improperly routed/vta VC hose. Even brand new oem pcvs leak past a certain boost point.
Fixed

Just had the dipstick pop on me. Its not fun, but I attribute it to boost leaking into my crankcase from my pcv. Couple that with a worn dipstick, and this is likely to happen. Removed my cat and the t25 managed to creep up and push boost past the pcv. I have my VC plumed into my intake through a sealed CC. I haven't had this problem until after the cat delete. Plain and simple.

Get a USPlastics check valve and put it between your pcv and IM. Your problem will like go away as long as the rest of your CCV is operational and you have a dipstick in good condition.

Running week old NGKs, there was auto lites in it when I bought it :notgood:
I can check the gap and compression on monday.

Went and got new plug wires today, first crank and it was one LOUD pop like a gun shot haha. Then it would start but barely run, so i think I blew one of the coil packs out. Sigh.

one of my old talons used to leak from the oil cap..that seal was hard as a rock. buy a new cap or the seal that goes under it..i know somebody sells it!

if the oil smells like gas then your rings are bad. How much boost are you running and how many miles are on the car?
on the bright side, when you do a rebuild Upgrade time.

Cars been on stock 16g boost this whole motors life until I got it. It's on 14 psi now. Motor was swapped and the car just sat.

I had the same problem and could not source it so I used wire to hold down the dip stick. Was fine until eventually I had a great loss of power and my GSX started hunting at idle. Turned out I should have done a bottom end rebuild when I had the engine apart because my center piston rings wore out. DO NOT DO THE EASY FIX OF CLAMPING OR TIE DOWN WITH WIRE! This does not mean you have the problem I did but it is a solid example of what not to do.

Or he has been running ridiculously rich for a long time and it leaked past the rings into his oil pan

Correct running rich over long periods of time will allow enough gas to accumulate during blow by (which always happens no matter what) to cause the smell. This doesnt rule out bad rings tho however untill a compression test is done its up in the air.
