parking lights turn on when i push in the break?!

I was just wondering if anyone knew what the problem could be. When i push in my brake all the lights that would come on when i turn on the lights to the car illuminate(guages, air conditioning dials, parking lights). It is as if i had just clicked my parking lights on and not my headlights. Please help!

did it just started doing that? or did the car came like that when u bought it? does the car have an alarm?

Check your brake light bulbs, the filamant in the bulb could have broken and shorted against the parking light side filament of the bulb, causing your running lights to come on when you hit the brakes.

i didnt notice it until recently..however i am unsure as to whether it used to happen..i dont think that it has been doing it since i got it about 5 months ago. I DO have a stock alarm, and thank you FAI4g63 i will check that out in the morning. Anyone else have any ideas?
