I have 98 stock GS wheels. I want them to be a different color. I was wondering if i is a good idea to paint them. If so what type of paint is the best and is there any tips? Thanks

You should not paint your wheels with spray paint!

If you have access to a sandblaster and a spray gun you will have a chance of the paint not falling off. You will also need to remove your tires to do this properly.

I have a set of black bbs wheels, err, alloys that someone else spray painted and they look awful.

Spray painting is fine, there are a few tech article on how to do this. I did mine and I couldn;t be happier..unless my stock GSX wheels were lighter.

Use the right supplies and do the right prep work and you'll be fine.

A spray gun is overkill on wheels. Spray paint will work just fine, as long as the proper prep work was done.

Powder coatind is really nice though... But if you don't have access to that, Spray paint FTW!

yea my boy paints his 5 spoke wheels black and they look good. He had to repaint it after a year or something, but that is still cheap

Spray paint is fine. The wheels have to be prepped properly or they will not come out looking very good.

I used duplicolour wheel paint on mine and they came out pretty well.

These pics are all after a full year on the car
