I know this question has been asked a lot, and i have searched. I'm painting my stock 2Gb GSX wheels black tomorrow and polishing the lip as well. The lip on the two front wheels are in bad shape, they have black and gray marks all over it which seem like they've been on there forever. I plan on purchasing sandpaper and brillo pads to sand it down with. Is there a power tool that i can purchase that will speed up this process?

the only power tool I used is the power tool under the hood of the car.
I put the car on jack stands (please be safe) and let the car run in 1-2 gear wheil sanding it down. @40grit did wonders for the divets and scratches in the lip, while 2000 and some mothers mag polish made the lips shine.

Theres a tech article about it, look it up.:thumb:

ya i seen those. I know i have to sand the lip to get it all shiny, but i was wondering if i could buy a tool to get better and faster results. Also do i use the airplane paint remover thingy on the lip as well or not??

How do you fix curb rash? One of my wheels has a pretty bad one, I was thinking could I fill the hole with something and paint over it?

Hole? LOL i think if you have a hole you need to look into some new wheels

haha I don't mean a hole like a deep hole that goes through. It's more like a 1-2mm deep chip.

The wheels look great! Nice job. How did you end up polishing the lip?

thanks for the compliment. I cleaned it off with soap and water, then used some degreaser on it, then pressure washed it. Sanded it down all smooth and finally polished it up with some Mother's mag and aluminum polish. I couldnt get some of the nicks and marks out, i mean it is a 9 year old wheel, but overall it looks very nice and im happy with the results :sneaky:
