Ae you saying u have some for sale ? Or just rubbing in that I can't find any? Lol

just rubbing it in :D

Corey thanks for doing the photoshop. I am really agonizing over the decision. I know the right thing to do is paint it factory red again, but I just think it would look badass wingless and gun metal paint and heavy tint.

Oh and the $1,400 was for a single stage paint job, but then a clear over the top....didn't know they can do that, is that kosher?

Here. The Cyber Grey does look nice but under the hood would remain red. :coy:

dude I would love to know how you did that. I mess around in photoshop but that came out great. Thanks!

I could maybe mask of the engine bay later and airbrush it black like the underside of the new hood...maybe?

really digging that grey

edit: i see you cloned out the old bumper on the ground, very cool

I'm digging that grey too, haha. That would be the color I'd make the switch to if I strayed from red, not that same grey but something similar. I'm a Porsche fan so I'd probably spray my car using their black grey paint.

I enjoy PS'ing (especially with CS6 and LR4) because of all the new tools that make it that much easier. I used the patch tool and content aware to remove that bumper in the driveway, only took a few mouse strokes done. :)

Thanks. If you start a thread and include a few pictures and info on the changes you want I'll do a few chops for you. I'm recovering from surgery so I've got time to kill... :(

Posted if ya get a chance. Just had a couple crappy pics on my phone but I'm gonna take a few more tomorrow. Sorry to hear about the surgery hope all went well and you have a speedy recovery.

Enough with the thread jacking I apologize op LOL. Good luck with the paint I was going to go charcoal, but opted for the black.

well I am back to thinking factory color. If I cannot stripe it down and do the entire thing it will just look better. The painter agreed.

next question. Is $350 a lot to weld in and fiberglass the holes from the rear spoiler?

Two stage paint job, $350 to fill in spoiler holes and fix a couple minor door dings $1,200.00

Does this look like it's worth $350 extra? When I had my Talon bumper painted the guy filled in the logo perfectly and sprayed the bumper to match for $200. It's hard to compare pricing from one body shop to another because of what all is included, however, filling in holes is something you should probably do yourself. That would bring you under $1k...

they said they were going to weld in a back plate on the big hole the 2ga wing leave in the deck, then fill with fiberglass. The little holes would probably be fine with just fiberglass.
I may see if he will do it for less.

I also want to see if he will fill in the fog light holes in the front bumper. What do you guys think about that look?

+2 on the Evo 9 GG, my fav. Color Evo of all time even tho I had a TB Evo 8. But deffently the GG with the roof black like a talon I think that would be pretty sick looking maybe even a flat black to make the GG stand out more

That Graphite Grey really is sick. I almost painted my DSM this color, but decided to stay factory color. When I do get an EVO, it will be this color.

since I cannot strip the car down and do it right I am wondering if I get it painted just a different red it might be a good compromise.

something like this Crystal Red Metallic..........but I am wondering how the engine bay look being a different red.

gah I am being such an indecisive little biatch about this. Driving myself nuts.

This thing is supposed to be dropped off at the paint shop tomorrow and I can't make up my mind!!!!!

so I have found other things to ponder besides color.

So since they are going to be filling in holes in the rear deck I am thinking of pulling the wiper, antenna and water nozzle and having all those holes filled in as well. Just completely cleaning up the back end. What do you guys think about that?

oh and this is a better picture of the red I am thinking about now

but if I do a different red I still have to do jams and hatch so not really saving money, but the engine bay may not look as bad. :hmm:

If you want to fill all the holes in the hatch I would just get a rs hatch before you paint it. They don't have rear wiper ;).

He has a 2ga GSX with the low rise spoiler, the holes aren't just in the hatch so that wouldn't work.

I removed my antenna/windshield wiper and plugged the holes with the OE plugs but I did it to save weight. If I were doing things to clean it up I'd keep the rear wiper and shave the antenna, then shark fin it like the BMW's have on the top of the hatch.

This is the only candy apple red DSM I've ever seen and it looked nice. It had a gloss black top though, I think doing a full candy red paint job might be too much for a DSM.

Corey I was thinking that with the candy apple I still would need to do the jams and what not, so might as well go grey...what do you think?

oh and a yanked the wiper, antenna and squirt nozzle, really cleaned up the back end. I just need to find a solution for the antenna to keep the radio functional. maybe a shark fin where the rear squirter was.
EDIT ok that is what you said above. So there is a way to route the antenna wire to the hatch...cool
