If a guy were to take his compressor housing off his turbo, sand it smooth, and have it painted/ anodized would it cause any problems?

I HIGHLY doubt they will spray in the inlet! WTFMyBlack94GST said:Some coatings can add a couple thousands to the material... might want to check blade/housing tolerances before you go changing stuff.

Question: If a valve cover can be powercoated in a non-high temp color (for example anodized blue), why does the compressor housing need to have high temp paint?
qwklil4 said:I sure hope my exhaust gases arent dumping into my compressor housing.
LA97GST said:Because when the exhaust gasses dump into the comp housing they are still burning hot if not on fire. Yea not much more you can say about that.
BAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!DGajre777 said:Yup. I don't see why a compressor housing would need high temp paint. It possibly can't get hotter than a valve cover.
daren_p said:You have to remember what your comp cover is attached to, the turbine housing. Now think about how hot this gets & think about heat transfer. Yes a comp cover will get alot hotter then a valve cover.
