Anyone have these yet? Requirements are 15 years old, stock appearing, vehicle not in production anymore, and under 5000miles driven yearly. Thinking about doing this with mine, as it trims off the emissions inspection every year :D

The "not driven more than 5000 miles" portion of that is what allows you to remove emissions, no matter how the car is registered. I've had my car like this since the year after I bought it in 2006. Hell, even my Ram 2500 is emissions exempt for the next year because of this LOL

Is yours a 95? Im going to have to look into this

nvm utah is 30 yrs old to be considered classic.

This is somewhat incorrect according to my local inspection station(s).

If the vehicle is not driven above 5000 miles, it is not *required* to be tested for emissions. The emission parts must still be installed and pass a visual inspection in order for this to be legal.

Now there are ways around this- for instance I can't see any shop that you know or you're familiar with raising a ruckus about the parts visually not being there if they aren't testing the vehicle for emissions. Maybe if you just popped in and they were suspicious that you're an undercover state worker or something, but not someone they know or have done business with for years.

Next way around it- leave the cat in place, but gut it. Passes the visual just fine, but has nothing inside it. :D

I have classic plates on my 81 Ford truck, and my dad has them on his 66 GTO. They're far less-restricted than antique plates. :thumb:

Your right Justin, most inspection places won't even bother with a visual if you know the tech. But yea state law mandates that you must have the car in running order for 12 months and not accumulate more than 5,000 miles in that 12 month period. It's pretty easy to get classic tags though, just a $100 fee, 4 pictures of your car (can cheat and use internet pics ) and send it off to Harrisburg.
