P0505 .. Dealer Part?

I called up the local Advanced and Napa and both say a new Idle air control sensor is a dealer part..

Can someone varify this for me?

If not, where'd you get it and how much.. Can't pass emissions without this.

BTW; i have no boost leaks. =P just throwing that out there before people tell me to check them, already did. Also i researched this just need a little extra push finding my answer.

Maybe they're taking you too literally. Perhaps you should try asking for a new Idle Air Control Valve, or Idle Air Control Motor, or Idle Air Control Solenoid. It's not technically a sensor at all.

That's interesting, auto zone shows one on their site so that means u van get it in their stores.

I don't stock it- I'd have to order it and get it in the next day. Check around your area first, though....take the part number I gave you and see if whatever parts store you frequent can cross-reference it for you. Highly doubtful you'll find a place locally that has one in stock, however.

My buddy with a Red GSX that i met down in the city is just gonna lend me the part for the night so i can get the car inspected hahaha.

The sensor doesnt really effect the way my car runs..
Unless i take the battery terminals off.. then i have a loopy idle for about 5 turn ons ..
Then the ecu corrects it.

So what's the problem- you're getting the code for the sensor, but the car is running fine otherwise?

I can vouch for this. I work at autozone and we can get it for you. its just a special order item. will get it in 2 days.
