I have a CEL for p0115. It is something with the cooling temp circuit. My fans will not turn on. I do have evoscan and i can manually turn on by activating the actuator. When i activate the actuator, the fans turn on (High and low actuators). Otherwise, evoscan reads accurate coolant temp. My gauge will occasionally drop really low when im giving it gas. I have a 180 thermostat. What are some common issues from P0115

Solution
I would replace it - the 2 wire one (the single wire one is for the dash temp gauge). First check the connector/wires to see if they are ok.

Update: I got the code because i had unpluged the 2 wire coolant temp sensor. My radiator fan will not turn on. The only way i can get it to turn on is by setting the actuator in evoscan, I can also unplug that 2 wire sensor and the fan will turn on. Evoscan is reading accurate coolant temps. Although it is reading accurate temps could it still be preventing the fan from turning on? I really dont want to go through the effort of replacing for no reason.
Usually it's the 2 wire engine coolant temp sensor failure.

I did read that it is a common problem. It does read on evoscan and my obd scanner accurately. Until it reaches 225 with still no fans turning on. I lowered my setting in evoscan so they would turn on at 205 degrees and then i put it back to factory. They never kicked on with either setting  should i just replace the sensor anyway?

Also when i unplug the sensor, evoscan reads -74 degrees and then the fans kick on.

I already checked the connections. They are fine, my temp drops to -74 when unplug and back to normal temp when plug back in. so i dont suspect the wires being the problem. coolant temp sensor is the only thing that could be the problem? car runs fine and starts fine when cold.
