I'm just about to replace my engine coolant temp sensor, and was curious if they are even in the right position on my water neck. This is how my car is currently hooked up but I'm getting a CEL p0115 for Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit. 6 bolt swapped 2g.

Top white plug is from a 1g, and is supposed to be left unplugged. And the bottom right one is for my temp gauge on the dash. The bottom left one is unplugged right now, and is a 1g ECT right? Can I just put the new 2g ECT into there? Whats the plug for right below the thermostat then?

Where you have it connected is not for the CTS. It's the two prong connector below that. I believe the thread sizes are the same. You can most likely swap the two.

Yes, the unplugged one on the bottom left is a 1g CTS for the ECU and the one above it where you have the 2g CTS is where the 1g thermo valve goes (which isn't used on a 2g). I don't see a reason why things shouldn't work that way, but the more "correct" way is to put the 2g CTS where the 1g CTS is now. Then plug that port up with a plug (or just use the 1g CTS as a plug).
