oxygen sensor spinning?

My front o2 sensor is shot, so I did the standard heat with torch, spray with pblaster, and used an o2 socket, and after a little effort it loosened, so I unplugged it. When I tried to get it out, it feels almost like its stripped, like it turns slightly then slips a little. It doesn't look stripped though, and I can feel movement when I wiggle it. Is the housing stripped?

If its spinning it sounds like the housing is stripped.

Sonofabitch. I had to give up because the sun was going down. I'm pretty sure the sensor is dead, because my o2 sensors and cat are always "not ready" on my pocket scanner no matter how far I drive. I realize I can cut the cord and use a deep 22 mm to try a better grip (the o2 socket is just some cheapo from auto zone), but I'm leery just in case the thing doesn't come off. I really don't have the time or resources right now to replace the o2 housing. I don't get it. I only heated the bung 30 seconds with a propane torch and didn't really have to struggle too hard to bust it loose.
