I had my first points event of the year today. This is my 2nd event of the year so far.
I get to the lot around 7:15am and proceed to get my slicks on, magnets and head to check-in and tech.
My car is in E Prepared and our group is first to race. It's a bit cool, cluody, and windy but it's around 60 degrees and dry. It's a medium speed course that winds constantly and has no straights....PERFECT!!! I click off a 48.7 on my first lap with a good amount of understeer due to the cold tires. 2nd lap goes well with the rear following me around the turn 1 sweeper and I understeer again in the turn 2 transition, tires are still a bit cold but I improve to a 48.4 lap time. 3rd lap goes well as I'm able to nail turn 2 this time and drop to a 47.8 lap. Last lap I pull out a 47.2 which at the moment leads my class until the crx manages a 46.8 to beat me by 4/10's to send me into 2nd place for the day.
All in all it was a good day, the car handled beautifully and I was able to carry a lot of speed through the course. The fastest car out there ran a low 44 sec lap time to compare myself to, so I'm about 3 secs behind the fastest cars which I believe one was an S2000.
I have a course map pic for now and some pics from the last event, I'll have pics from this event as soon as they're available.

I suck at MS Paint even so it's hard tell where the start and finish are.....Start is at the top near the center and finish comes in around the upper left corner is that help anyone tell which way the course worked.

Great job! You improved your times by almost a second and that ain't hay OMG I can't wait to see the pictures and track layout (so get on the frigging ball)! I know the site is having proplems with uploading (by my own personal experience)WTF

It's so cool to see you guys out there racing:thumb:

Nice job. I was supposed to run this weekend too, but passed on it since it was another region's event and 80% chance of rain with 20-30mph winds. Looks like you guys didn't get the same crap weather that we did.

Thanx guys. The pics are usually up by late in the week, they don't hurry them up at all. I'm going to be hard pressed to keep up with the CRX's, they have a huge weight advantage over me but I'm working on it. The fact that I kept up within 4/10's was a good feeling, I know I'm heading in the right direction!!
Kyle, it rained just lightly here, but about 15 mins after my last lap!! I got lucky for sure, but it was only enough to wet the pavement once and it stayed dry the rest of the day. I saw radar and I know it was raining all over Indiana all day, that sux. You should get a set of good street tires that are good for the rain, I have the BFG KDW's and they're great in the rain.
Here's a video of the course being driven by an STi...

I was going to be co-driving the local director's Tein suspended STi down in Indy on Falken 615's. My 215's do pretty decent so long as the ground isn't too smooth or too puddly.
