We had our 3rd points event of the year today already. Man the season is flying by so fast.
I knew well ahead of time it was going to be hot, it hit about 90 degrees today. The track temp was probably close to 95+ but a light breeze helped quite a bit.
I went through the usual morning routine of switching tires which got me sweating right off the bat. I walked the course with a friend that runs an H Stock n/a Talon. It was a fast high hp course that the turbo cars would do well at. There were a total of 4 dsm's out today, me in my Laser, the n/a Talon in H Stock, an n/a Eclipse running in STX, and a Talon TSi in SM.
I was only up against a rabbit in my class today as neither of the crx's were coming. I was running last heat which meant keeping the tires from getting too hot was going to be a problem.
My first lap I run a 39.5 on cool tires, which turned out to be near my best lap!! Laps 2 and 3 I drop into the low 40's because I had passengers. Lap 4 I manage a 39.4 and a best on my last lap of a 39.3. To compare the fastest car today I believe ran a 36.??? lap time. The flying wing in A Mod ran a rediculous 34 sec lap at some point(I'll post a link to pics of autox so you can see this crazy thing). I beat the rabbit by about 1 sec for 1st place in my class.
The dsm's faired well today, I got 1st in my class, the Talon got 1st in H stock, and the n/a Eclipse in STX got 4th. The TSi was in SM and he was on street tires, no explanation needed there. It was good times despite the heat!!

Sorry for the lack of track maps and more pics of me, I ran the same heat as the cameraman again so I won't have pics for the 3rd event in a row. There should be some of the Eclipse in STX and the TSi because they were in different heats, pics should be posted later this week.

Chalk up another great day for the DSM's... There's nothing better then performing well at the track, not to mention attaining your own personal goals!
