Hi guys, i have a quick question.

I noticed some play on my output shaft from trans to transfer case. That is to say, when i spin the shaft, it was really easy. I could spin it back and forth about 1/4 turn and nothing happen, and no grab to transmission as well. And this is not side to side play nor in And out. It is more like a free turn. Is this normal? Or something bad with the center diff?

Your center diff is likely wrecked. I put money on upper pinion gear shim is vaporized and pinion gear/ cover are junk along with the high likelyhood of a lower pinion gear shim split in half giving a lot of freeplay.

Or...your pinion spider gearset is toast in the center diff. Either way, transmission needs a teardown and servicing.
