2G Outlander brakes

Was going to order mine from Amazon too, but they were sold out. Looked on ebay and found these...

They are the same one that were on Amazon. Said that they had them in stock and should have mine before Wednesday. Hope they fit behind FD wheels. Guess I will find out...

Hmm.. same seller I believe. Anyway, good find!

Btw, just for clarification: I would be looking for a 3rd gen eclipse master cylinder and brake booster correct?
Yes, most guys go with upgrading both the master and the booster. However, when I upgraded to Outlander fronts, I just went with the 3g master (kept the stock 2g booster) and the upgrade in performance is noticeable. I'm guessing upgrading the booster would just add to the effect. Point is, I wouldn't consider the booster upgrade essential, but if you can score one for a good price, why not, right?

I got all the rust cleaned off my Outlander Calipers last night and primed and painted them:

^^^^Sex. Looks nice. Mine were black new. Kind of like the silver. Nice choice. Rotors look identical to mine.

Thanks! I never planned on painting them (you can barely see them behind the wheels), but they started rusting within a month of putting them on. They were Centric calipers, here's the pic I posted earlier in the thread of them before I installed them.

Caliper brackets are back in stock now. Get them while they last. :D

Soo..... almost 5 months later I finally got around to installing them.

Before and after pics.

Impressions: well, they're definitely bigger. First time in months that I get a chance to work on the car, and it starts raining  I didn't finish the other side. It will probably be another 3 months before I finish :D In case you're wondering, the wheels are 17's.

Anyone know for sure if all the 05/06 outlander rotors are the same, like between different models of the outlander? I am going to order these today and they are going to ask me what model its for.

Also why doesn't anyone put them on the rears? Do the caliper brackets not line up in the rear? what's the issue with outlander rotors and caliper brackets with 2G GSX calipers in the rear?

Our stock rear rotors and outlander rear rotors are the same part# The calipers are a different part# I don't know if they would fit but it wouldn't be an upgrade anyway.

I paid a total of $500 for all my parts (including stainless steel brake lines from RRE). Here was my cost:

rotors: $126.52 shipped
RRE Stainless steel lines (which allow me to use Outlander calipers on my 1g) $135
Outlander Caliper and brackets from ebay (Centric)
$121.96 x2
TOTAL FOR PARTS: $506.00

Just bought the front outlander brackets, $72 a pair from amazon. Got the outlander Centric Rotor for $36 each from local place. They didn't ask me what model outlander it was for so they are probably all the same for that year... looking forward to better stopping since I needed to replace my rotors anyways, might as well do this upgrade.

Here's my list of parts and prices for my setup.
I was going to start a new thread when I got better pictures, maybe I still will.
But for now, here is all the info I have incase anyone is looking to do the same.

  • Front Rotors (05 Mits. Outlander)/$117/Centric Rotors via Autoanything
  • Rear Rotors (97 Mits. Eclipse GST)/$91.78/Centric Rotors via Autoanything
  • Caliper Bracket x2 (Front, 05 Mits. Outlander FWD)/$71.90/Febest via Finest Auto Parts, Amazon
  • EBC Red Stuff Front Brake Pads (97 Mits. Eclipse GSX)/$77.95/EBC via Autoanything
  • Front Caliper x2 (05 Mits. Outlander FWD)/$80+$70 Core/Duralast via Autozone
  • Mitsubishi Caliper Decals/$7.99/Towervinyldecals via ebay
Total: $446.62

I figured I would just go with all new parts since I was doing an upgrade anyway.
I also did know someone at Autozone that helped me out on the calipers, so they would actually cost a little more, and got free brake fluid which is why its not included. :D

Does the GSX Brake pads work with the Outlander Caliper? Or do you have to use Outlander Pads?

The business portion of the Outlander caliper is identical to the GSX caliper, only the brackets differ. So, yes, the pads are identical.
