Alright i had my T-25 die on me yesterday... so i bought the EVO III Big 16g today...Im going to run it at 12 p.s.i for the time being but what ill i need for a 300 H. P. goal? I have done plenty of research and i know what i should get but i would like to know anyones opinion on what will get me to my goal. Also can anyone give me an estimate on how much hp i will be pushing when i bolt it up?? I understand it is a very broad question.. but im only looking for opinion thanks in advance...

believe me i have i was just wondering what you guys would do IF you were in my situation... just looking for some opinions from people with more experience then myself...

To further answer your question, you'll need to go the front mount intercooler route for 300whp to keep engine temps down. Many people will say sidemount is fine for 16g, but get the front mount if your planning on upgrading in the future. Also fuel, AFPR, pump, injectors, some type of logger/tuning system like S-AFC or go all out and get DSMLink. New BOV like a 1g or greddy (recirculated). And I'd also recommend a MAFT for better air metering. Exhaust including downpipe, and catback, intake, and maybe better spark plug wires (maybe overkill). I probably forgot some things but its a good start.

your right the guide is great maybe i should re-phrase this... if anybody with any experience with this turbo has any ideas on what i might need to hit a 300 hp goal i would appreciate it.. I understand that i will need more than 12 psi and i will definetly need fuel management like and S-afc or dsm link, bigger injectors such as 550 or 650 and a larger fuel pump to start to make this turbo run efficiently
but what i was trying to ask was what kind of HP can i expect out of each mod

I did IC pipes&BOV, Fuel mods, tuning devices, and FMIC along with my B16g. I run 18-19psi daily driven on the street and it made a noticeable difference;). Now I definately need to get my clutch/ flywheel in there:( . I haven't been to the track with it, but I give stage II SRT-4's and stock Evo's fits:) .

alright boost demon did you ever have your car dinoed?? and what fuel mods and tuning devices did you go with?

Well, how I understand it is, you want to be making 300 hp at 12 psi with other mods right?? If so, do the usual mods like fuel and fuel management, etc. but also get cams, and a new intake manifold, magnus makes a good one. This will be good for mostly top end and add horsepower (40hp for intake manifold). Since your running a 16g, get the 264 intake/exhaust cams from hks. Their better for midrange power like the 16g is good for. I don't know how much hp the 264s will add though.

ok there we go i never thought about cams or a new intake manifold but i dont need to stay at 12 psi im only going to run it there for a short time until i can get proper fuel mangement... does anyone know how much stress this turbo will put on my engine?? this will still be my daily driver so reliability will be a must...

When people want performance without sacraficing drivability, they turn to the 16g or variants. It won't put a lot of stress on your engine unless your running it a like 30 psi which really isn't possible because of the boost creep problems most 16g's have. Don't get me wrong, SBR has hit the 400hp mark with the 16g, but not everybody can reach that. All in All the 16g is a great turbo for your goal.

alright about how much boost do you think it would take to hit 300HP? Also how much of a hindrence is not having an exhaust going to be? Im still running stock and right now funding is running short, do you think ill still be able to hit 300 hp without and aftermarket exhaust?

Depends on all of your other mods and your tuning ability. My friend hit 312hp at the crank with 20psi (not sure of his mods) on the dyno. It really depends if you have cams, intake manifold, etc.

wow 20 psi that just seems insane, yeah it seems im going to have to tinker around to hit my goal... along the lines of tranny and clutch will the stock stuff handle the new power or should i look into that also?? Honestly i really wont be launching to much i dont ever go to the track and street races are rare around here most of the time they will start from like a 40 roll...

The best thing to do is get the 16g, install it along with fuel mods, fuel management, clutch, exhaust, intake, and take it to the dyno at 12psi. Then go from there. You'll find out how much wheel horsepower your putting down then decide what you want to buy next or just increase the psi next (if you have the right fuel mods of course). Also, you won't get anywhere unless you have a good tune. It's all about tuning :thumb:

Im getting Evo 3 turbo and getting 6bolt swap done soon so this is what i'm going to use as fuel wise walbro 255lph hp fuel pump [rewire], 550cc injectors, AFPR. bolt on parts port 2g exhaust mani to match the evo 3 turbo, intake, exhaust, fmic. Also you'll need dsmlink or some tunning system.

Never had the car dynoed, just tested on the street. As far as tuning goes I used my trusty DSM Chip which was burnt for my RC 550cc injectors with fine tuning done on my S-AFCII and adjustable fuel pressure regulator:) . Granted I got the socket service, chip, S-AFCII, and logger+software for $440 (that's all I could afford at the time), so it works just fine for me :sneaky: . This was on 91octane too BTW.

with out getting a downpipe and an exhaust you wont get the full efect that turbo can show you. i am going the same route. i already have a 3" dp and cat back. i have already maxed my t25 out. i am about to purchase a 16g, SAFC, 660 injectors, wide band, egt and have some fun.
