2G Opinions on which BOV

Greddy Type-S is still pretty loud. Its not made anymore but they still float around out there.

If your running SD or a blow-through MAF post BOV, then yes, you can vent.

Just stick with the 1g valve, please. The Greddy valve is overpriced and not worth it at all. NGR valves can't even compare to a 1g bypass valve. Get hard intercooler and intake piping along with a cone filter and you will hear the bov just fine while it is recirculated. The only other valve I would recommend would be an Evo IX one if you can find one. They are very similar to the 1g valves, but hold a little more boost without being crushed or dodge garage modded and bolt right on to the factory uicp on a 2g.

What's "crushed" mean LOL and anybody how much should I expect to pay for a 1g bov? Is crushing it easy?

1g valves can easily be had for under $60, sometimes much less. You won't need to crush it if you unless you are running more then 20ish psi. Then just do a search on that or the "dodge garage mod" and you'll find plenty of threads about how to do either.

I have the Greddy type-s, its recirculated, and I can still hear it. It isn't super loud, but I am only running 10psi, and it is not all of the time that I go into full boost. But when I do, I can hear it. I have seem videos of the crushed 1g being super loud. For the price of the bov, you can't really be the functionality of it. And it still has a little ring to it. I would venture to say the bov's with the higher pitched sounds will be heard recirculated. Blow off valves such as the Greddy Type-S , HKS SSQV, etc.

The Greddy Type-S is junk, i have one right now and that is one leaky BOV. Get a crushed 1G or a Tial. Or if you can find one, get a NGR Type-s they sound pretty badass. They aren't the loudest but they do not leak until you get into the REALLY high boost levels.

Ive run a 1g BOV crushed and uncrushed on my setup at 18psi with an cutout on the downpipe and I can still hear it just fine and my exhaust is loud!!! If not a 1g for the price alone then go HKS SuperSqeaker(SSQV)or Tial...

I've got a greddy type-rz and it's loud as hell un-recirculated, almost too loud imo. It's pretty quite recirculated with the stock rubber intake pipe but with a aluminum pipe it sounds perfect. Not obnoxiously loud and not too quite.

If you want my honest opinion, don't buy an expensive blow off valve unless you really need it. I paid about 250 for mine and I feel like it was such a waste of money. I could have bought a 1G bov and a set of H&R sport springs for the price I paid for my greddy. That makes me angry just typing it out, what a waste of money.

If you really want something "bling" and nice sounding, try out NGR's valves. They're a recreation of the greddy type s and work really well and aren't too terribly priced. Even though they use to be like 100 shipped and are now 160 and I see they're now selling replacement diaphragms. That kind of throws the claims that their internals are stronger out the window considering they've only been on the market about a year.

SPECIAL! - Shop NGR

Here's a video of the NGR recirculated:

You can pick up a 1G bov for about 50 shipped, cheaper from the classifieds if you look around. STM has one in stock.

If you want to blow some serious dough on a BOV, get a Tial or HKS. You can't recirculate the Tial but they are great BOVs. Same with the HKS but you can recirculate it. Both are very responsive compared to the 1G, NGR and Greddy valves.

Pretty sure this isn't recirculated:

This should get you started. There are a lot more valves out there to choose from but these are most popular for DSMs and they do just about the same job for you, no better or worse. The only difference is price and sound right now. Get a hard intake pipe with your bov and you should be happy.

Also, try to avoid buying any BOV other than the 1G off ebay, There are so many counterfeits on there. You'll get ripped off.

Many people on here will ask you why you are concerned about venting your bov. It just turns into a show off valve, thus defeating it's purpose.

You, like many people enjoy hearing the car and it's capabilities. Make sure you do recirculate any bov you do choose.
