Balance shaft bearing. Now you get to go find which one.

i hope, that means i have a reason to remove those stupid things... and my front one does have a little play in it.. when i was putting on my timing belt i noticed i could move the sprocket a bit..

can i pull the front one out with the engine in the car?>

It's a real PITA to negotiate past the chasis. Some have cut it up others have just removed the belt and left it in (what I did). Though if the front bearings are what you found in the pan, I'd definitely pull the fronts.

well you were right... just pulled it out..

QUESTION, can i use my rear bearings to seal the oil port in the front balance shaft bearing housing? i.e the one that shredded?
