I recently skipped some teeths on the timing belt during a lapping event due to overheating inside the engine bay (due to a blown manifold gasket) and did an complete engine overhaul. I put in new NPR pistons, new topline valves with the oem composite HG.

I put everything back together and started it up. However, the car idled very roughly and although my WB showed stoich readings the car had no power, nor felt decent.

i will attach an ecmlink log so you guys can see what it does during idle. The AFratioEST is showing very different numbers than my wideband.

I've noticed that my combinedFT is very negative now and that my OMNI4bar sensor is frozen at 28.9.
I've checked timing multiple times and it is dead on.

Could a bad omni4bar sensor cause such issues?

edit: oh and vacuum at idle is only -10/11

I wouldn't buy those omni sensors. It's a motorola chip that costs about $4 in custom packaging marked up thousands and thousands of percent. Honda guys were running these sensors without the custom packaging for years. In fact, many would cut the casing of the GM 3 bar and replace the guts with the higher metering sensors.

Anyway, all I'm saying is buy a legit GM sensor, an AEM, or some other name brand sensor. These omni ones are not as good as the OEM sensors. I'm not surprised that the sensor failed.

OP your pin assignments look correct considering you have your Omni wired into the MDP. Have you checked the wiring at the Omni plug?

According to your log, you are running a MAF? If this is the case, the Omni should not play a part in the way your engine behaves. The purpose of the MAP is to monitor EGR operation. http://www.roadraceengineering.com/1g2gheadswaptechtip.htm

If honda guys were cutting their GM casings open to replace them with “these” sensors then they must not be that bad. :aha:As for recommending the AEM, the low end resolution makes their 5 bar sensor a horrible choice for speed density. Some GM sensors suffer from this same issue.

What makes the OEM sensors so much better? Who produces/makes the sensors inside those casings?

Lastly, how did you come to the conclusion that the sensor failed?
