OK to start off i bought a 95 gst with no motor a little less than a year ago, built a 7 bolt for it dropped it in and now it is registered and insured and ive been driving it the last 3 days... here are the problems i cant figure out

1st. the car idles pretty high which i was wait for a nice day to fix but i noticed after a lot of stop and go driving that everytime the idle gets higher and higher up to 3500 rpms... and then sometimes it does the 1000 rpm up to 1500 then back down to 1000 ect... im thinking vacuum leak but its just really odd and ive checked the vacuum before so... any ideas?

2nd. i never touched the rear end of the car but when i was driving today it started feeling REALLY loose, like the tail was coming out almost, i just turned around and brought it straight home...

3rd. my windows were down and refused to go back up and the alternator wasnt charging the battery... turns out to be a bad alternator/choke fuse (the 100amp one) so i change it and the everything fine and the window worked fine... now they work when they feel like it, sometimes they go up and down fine and other times you hit the switch and nothing... which really sux when it starts raining.

last, sometimes when i come home at night and the headlights are on, i turn off the car and shut off the lights but the passenger headlight stays on... i have to unplug the battery and plug it back in for it to work...

thanks in advance for any help guys its always appreciated and any long island guys that wanna meet up lmk i just moved to oakdale in suffolk county

I bet one of the contacts is not attached on the positive side... Mine liked to do that weird stuff when I had 2 of the 3 tabs connected....

1) Sounds like Idle Air Control

2) Hard to diagnose with out more info but, check wheel bearings, alignment. Really on a fwd you shouldn't be oversteering.

3) Check your fuses and what the above poster said. Make sure all your electrical connections are clean. You can clean up corrosion on battery surface contacts with Coke. Make sure its real coke not some offbrand or pepsi or diet-coke. Coke-Cola + scrubby pads or sandpaper work wonders.

new battery and terminals, idle air control is a possibility i didnt even think about it, and i did a boost leak test but i just rebuilt the turbo so i should probably redo that, thanks guys. If this rain feels like stopping I'm gonna go try this stuff out

For corrosion problems the best thing to use is baking soda with water. It will nutralize the acid and fizz the hard deposits away. Just like the other poster said, that is corrrect; just once you clean up the connectors, apply some electrical grease to prevent further problems.
