i was on driving today, was coming to a stop sign. put in clutch, held, came to the stop sign and realized the engine had stalled. rolled it over out of the way and tried to start it. after a couple times i gave it a little gas when i started it. this worked, i was able to get fire, and have it run. but if i let off the gas it dies out. so i drove down the road, and it still runs fine as far as i can tell. but it will not idle. got it home and looked all hoses, vaccum lines, i/c hoses, and whatever else over. didn't see anything out of the ordinary. unplugged the MAS, and plugged back in. started it, and reved the snot out of it (don't ask me why i did this, but i did). and it actually stayed idling this time. very very low though, about 6-700 rpm.
anybody with some info, or suggestions would be very helpful. my ideas are mass air flow sensor is messed, fuel pressure something or other, or maybe alternator?? not getting enough voltage while at idle??

95 Talon TSi 2wd
2.5" turboback with no cat (both 02 sensors still in place though)
open element air filter
70k miles

check your BISS, a screw that controls the idle, mine fell out the other day while spanking a civic. the screw is going to be around the throttle body, well it should be there, now there would prob be a hole, like a little well, is your car whistling while your driving? if so then that could be it, the screw is like 3-4 dollars from the dealership heres the part name, "Adjusting Screw, Throttle Body" and youll also need a new o-ring, thats like around 7 dollars from the dealership, and i picked it up at home depot for 17 cents, heres the junk for the o-ring: #5 O-ring (3/8x1/4x1/16). you could get the rubber cap so it doesnt come out..the screw. but thats more money

still trying to figure this out. my mechanic check it with the scan tool, code came out as low catalyst eficiency, which is normal for no cat-con. he is thinking maybe the mas is bad. so i am trying to find one online now. any help would be appreciated.

Alright, I had this same problem when I put my after marked intake on the car. The sensors in the MAF were having troubles with the new intake. I took it to the shop, and they just re-set all the sensors. It took about 10 seconds, after that everything ran perfect. I would give that a shot.

what do you mean by "reset all the sensors"? sensors for what, and how did they reset them?

and i have checked all i/c hoses and vaccum lines. i know its not those b/c it runs good when on the throttle, just not at idle.

Inside the MAF there are sensors that talk to the cars ECU. the tell it how much fuel to put into the engine. The reset them by hooking the car up to the computer at the repair shop. Its not somthing you can do on your own. Its not a michanical problem. Its in the wiring, or at least that was the case with my car.
 
So, what have to done to resolve your problem? Is it wroking ok now? I would like to know how to fix a simular problem. Thanks.
